Eleven months in Sweden

In March 2025 Ayman Habib came home from Örebro, Sweden, after eleven months as a European Solidarity Corps volunteer working on technology and AI for the future.

The placement ran from 15 April 2024 to 14 March 2025 under project 2023-2-IT03-ESC51-VTJ-000169793. Travel, accommodation, insurance, language support and a monthly allowance were all covered by the programme, as they always are — a volunteer never pays to volunteer.

Ayman is one of more than forty volunteers LaraCultura has now supported, hosted or accompanied. That number is the part of our work that is hardest to photograph and easiest to underestimate: each one is a year of somebody’s life, and most come back and start something here.
