Volunteer with us in Larache
LaraCultura holds an ESC Quality Label for Hosting and Supporting, valid to 31 December 2027, under OID E10267057. That is the accreditation that lets us receive European volunteers here — and support young Moroccans going the other way. More than 40 volunteers have gone through us so far.
Coming to Larache
What a volunteer actually does here
Volunteers work alongside our team rather than beside it. In practice that means running English or conversation sessions, helping prepare and facilitate workshops, documenting activities in photo and video, supporting the cinema festival and open mics, and helping us write and manage projects.
We ask for initiative rather than qualifications. If you arrive with a skill we do not have — editing, sound, illustration, a language — we will build something around it.
What is covered
The practical side
- Travel
- Return travel to Morocco is covered by the programme within the standard distance bands.
- Accommodation
- Arranged and paid for in Larache.
- Food & allowance
- A monthly food budget plus personal pocket money, both set by the programme.
- Insurance
- Full ESC insurance for the duration of the placement.
- Language
- Support to learn Darija or Arabic while you are here.
- Cost to you
- Nothing. Volunteering under the ESC is never a paid-for placement.
How to apply
Three steps
Register on the EU Youth Portal
Create your European Solidarity Corps profile at youth.europa.eu/solidarity. You will get a participant reference number.
Write to us
Send your CV, your reference number and a short letter about why Larache to contact@laracultura.com. Tell us what you would want to start here.
We match you to a project
Placements depend on approved funding, so timing varies. We will tell you honestly what is confirmed and what is pending.
Going the other way
If you are Moroccan and want to volunteer abroad
Our Supporting label means we can prepare and send young people from here on placements in Europe. Ayman Habib — one of the 40-plus volunteers we have supported — spent eleven months in Örebro, Sweden, from April 2024 to March 2025, working on technology and AI for the future.
You need to be 18–30, and you need to be willing to be away for months rather than weeks. Everything else — the paperwork, the visa, the preparation — we do together.
